Each year BHES participates in the Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program. Throughout the first semester and into January, students are encouraged to read as many of the 20 Bluebonnet books as possible. Students who read five or more of these books (or who heard those books read aloud) are eligible in late January to vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book.
