Barbers Hill Primary - Where Little Eagles Learn to Soar!
Fall into Success at BARBERS HILL PRIMARY
Fall is a great time at Barbers Hill Primary to bring out the best in Y-O-U! October, November, and December are exciting times at the Primary School in the guidance classes. In classroom guidance, we spend much time talking about drug abuse prevention. October highlights this with Red Ribbon Week at the end of the month. November continues the theme with The Great American Smoke Out. Students will learn about the differences between good and bad drugs, as well as learning about how bad drugs hurt our bodies. In the second grade, we will connect a science lesson about the human body with this teaching. In the first grade, we will look at the differences between drugs, food, medicine, and poisons. In the Eagles Serving Others program, we will do our food drive for the Community Food Bank in November. Then, in December, we will collect toys for needy children in our area. Other ideas will be sent home with the students during this time, too. Don't forget to keep sending in the blue slips with the parent affirmations about what your child is doing to help others. (Blue slips can be obtained through your child's teacher, through the frong office, or on the download page of this website.) Most importantly, we pride ourselves in the knowledge that this is the year where our "little eagles" learn to soar!
